    Dear Parents/Carers

     

    Our wonderful choir were absolutely incredible when they performed at the Brangwyn. They looked amazing and sounded amazing! What a special memory for all involved. The full video will be available shortly.

     

    Our recent Sharing the Learning events have been fantastic. The children and parents really enjoyed.

    Thanks to our families for supporting all our Easter Activities. The Easter hats and decorated eggs were superb.  We appreciate all your support. 

     

    COMMUNITY NEWS

     

    Fundraising

     

    Our generous community raised £100 for the Morriston emergency appeal for those who have been affected by the terrible gas explosion that took place in Morriston, Swansea on 13th March and its impact on the Morriston community. 

     

    We will donate the remaining £33.17 to Comic Relief. 

     

    New village playground - ‘a playground for all’

     

    All pupils have the opportunity to complete a questionnaire to share their views on what they would like ( this is on J2E). Please encourage your child to complete. 

     

    Easter Egg donations

     

    Thanks to Swn y Gan Nursing home for donating the Easter eggs for the Nursery and Reception children. 

     

    Friends of Penclawdd  (FoP) fundraising for our children

    Quiz night - Friday March 31st 

     

    Join us from 6pm onwards for a fun night at the Penclawdd rugby club - please see the poster sent via seesaw.

     

    Easter Raffle

     

    Thanks to the Friends of Penclawdd for arranging this. We raised a fab £352.00. This money will go towards the development of our new library.

    Dear Parents/Carers

     

    Well our classes have been extremely busy `sharing the learning` with their families. The feedback has been fantastic. We really appreciate all your support and the children are so proud to celebrate their learning with you all.

    We hosted a cluster Welsh enrichment day this week for a `right rugby sing song`  and our Criw Cymraeg shared our Penclawdd version of Sospan Fach with them !  We`d like to thank Dan Biggar for sending us a fab message of support.

     

    Sharing the Learning - Nursery /Reception - Wednesday 29th March

    Our wonderful Penguins will be having a market stall selling all the African gifts they have been making.  The stall will be open at 11am for Nursery parents and reopens at 3pm for our Reception parents. 

     

    Easter at Penclawdd

     

    We will be having an Easter Bonnet/Hat parade on The 30th of March for Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 .Please help your child to make an Easter hat/bonnet.ALL Bonnets/Hats to be in school - Wednesday 30th March

     

    Nursery parade is at 11am on the yard.

     

    R, Y2 children will parade around the Infant yard at 2.40pm (please note this change of time) for parents to see wearing hats. Each class will have have a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and a small Easter gift.

     

    Year 3 - Year 6 `decorate a boiled egg` competition 

    A small prize will be given to the winners from each class .

    Our Choir go to the Brangwyn ! 

    North Gower Partnership Music Festival March 27th  - Choir members from Y3-Y6 will be performing in the North Gower Partnership Music Festival at the Brangwyn Hall on the 27th March 2023. This event will start at 6:30pm. Tickets are on sale and can be purchased from our school office.  Tickets are £2, under 12s are free.

     

    A fond farewell...

    After the Easter hols ( Friday April 24th) we will be saying a fond and heartfelt farewell to Mrs. Williams as she embarks on a new chapter. She is a much valued and loved member of staff and has been an huge impact on the lives on many children and families at Penclawdd for the last 12 years. We wish her well in her new career. On behalf of the school community- past and present, we thank her for the loyalty, dedication and professionalism she has demonstrated in her role. Please keep in touch Mrs W!

    New village playground - a playground for all

    Our Y6 children met with Cllr Andrew Williams last week to share with him their ideas on what they`d like in a new playground. All pupils have also got the opportunity to complete a questionnaire to share their views on what they would like.

     

    Easter Raffle

    Many thanks to Mrs. Mey Smith (Robert and Ethan`s mum)  who has kindly put together the donated Easter Eggs and made wonderful hampers.Raffle tickets were sent home with children and we hope many parents / carers will return sold tickets with money.We will draw the winning tickets on Thursday 30th March during assembly.

    Dear Parents/Carers

     

    Our Twmpath evening was INCREDIBLE - we all had a FAB time. 

    We’ve got such an amazing community , who give us the best support. Thanks to these brilliant businesses : CKs, The Crofty Inn and The Cwtch,  for the generous & delicious food donations which helped make our Twmpath such a wonderful event - see pics. A SPECIAL shout out goes to Mrs D and her Criw team too; Mrs D worked very hard to organise this event.

    And of course A HUGE THANKS to the magnificent wonderful Welsh Folk band ,‘Coppercaile’, who entertained us playing fine folk music, whilst teaching us the traditional folk dances of Wales - click here

    Dogs on school premises

    Just a reminder please can parents/carers NOT bring dogs onto the school premises. We appreciate that walking your pet whilst picking up your child is convenient, but we do not allow dogs on the school grounds. 

     

    Arrears - trips, clubs etc 

    As we are coming towards the end of the financial year, please can parents ensure that all debts relating to trips, breakfast clubs and school dinners are paid by 24th March 2023.  We do not want to be in the position of having to explain our debts to Swansea Council when are school accounts are audited.  Thank you.

    Roz and Kirsty will visit us on 2nd May 2023 to take class photos.

    Let`s Talk with your baby sessions at Penclawdd Primary

    Sessions commence April 20th 

    This is a playful 6 week course designed to help  develop the early communication skills of babies aged 3 - 12 months - please ring Mrs Beynon to be added to the waiting list as we are now full.

     

    Friends of Penclawdd  (FoP) fundraising for our children

    We are so grateful to this small group of parents who are working very hard to organise fun events, which also raise funds for the school. 

    Funds raised at Christmas have been spent on new furniture for our whole school library - it is going to look BRILL - pics to follow.
