    Mon 28 Mar 2022 Mrs R-M

    Dear Parents and Carers,

Well the sun is still shining- albeit it`s a little cold!! How wonderful is it to see all the beautiful daffodils the children planted in autumn happily dancing around our grounds. Thanks to all the parents/carers for taking the time to catch up with class teachers over the last 2 weeks. We are sure that it was great to hear about your child's progress.

We are also very grateful to parents for completing the questionnaire on home work/home-school links sent via Seesaw last week. Your views are important and valued. Mrs Percival is collating all the responses and will share the findings shortly.

Mrs Garcia is the staff lead for the Friends of Penclawdd (PTA). She will be sending an update next week regarding future events/activities to support the school.

    COVID-19 updates

As you are aware there have been a number of recent changes to Covid guidance, but with schools remaining at HIGH on the Welsh Government’s framework this has led to some conflicts between both sets of advice.

With the rules of isolation moving from “must” to “should”, this is now the responsibility of the parents. If your child has any of the main symptoms of COVID-19, they should self-isolate and take a lateral flow test (LFT) . If your child tests positive on any COVID-19 test (PCR or LFT), they should self-isolate for 5 full days.  Day 1 is the day after the symptoms started or the day of the test, if you do not have symptoms (whichever is earlier).  A lateral flow test (LFT) should be taken on day 5.

We will keep you informed of any further changes for schools after the Easter break.
