    Dear Parents/Carers

A belated Happy New Year to you all!  It was wonderful to welcome the children back to school and it has certainly been a very busy start to the Spring term.

Firstly as you are all aware, we were thrilled to receive such a wonderful Estyn report and we are all extremely proud of our children and our community.  If you would like to read the report in detail click here!

At the beginning of a new year, it's a time when many people make new year resolutions. As it's later in the month I wonder if people have kept them?  It's often suggested to make small achievable goals, for me this is to continue to save with our school bankers.  Perhaps you or your children/family members would like to join the bank too. A few pounds a month soon adds up!

Our classes have embarked on their new topics this term.  Y6 is `Beast Creator` and have already started their learning with a visit to Amazonia in Clydach, where they had the opportunity to observe and in some cases handle reptiles.  The children really enjoyed the experience and many faced fears of small insects! The photographs taken made me chuckle and I have to admit the children were braver than me!

    Our Magical Melody Choir

Our fabulous choir being led by Mrs. Davies is being held on Monday during lunch times. They have lots of events planned , including a special celebration at the Brangwyn Hall - more details to follow.

    Attendance

As our pupil relish coming to school, we really want to ensure our attendance is excellent. During the winter months, we all suffer with colds and coughs but providing these are mild your child can attend school.  It is also helpful if you ring/email/leave message/message via website to inform us of any absence if your child really can't attend. Thank you.

    Lateness

Please can you make every effort to ensure your child is in school by 8.50am at the latest!  Lateness is disruptive and impacts staff and other children in the class.  Learning commences immediately after registration.
