Welcome back. We hope you had a lovely Easter break. The sun has certainly been shining since we returned and we love this weather. Classes have started their new topics and we are excited for the summer term learning.

 

Y4/5 had a wonderful time at The Grand Theatre watching the Academy of Barmy Composers. This was filmed by S4C and can be watched on Heno from Wednesday 19th April.

 

Let's talk with your baby classes started this week; it was lovely seeing new mums with their babies coming into school and meeting with professionals.  The 6 week course is to develop parents baby communication.   

 

Many thanks to the Year 6 bankers who are now very well established in their roles. We will be interviewing new bankers next week. If you'd like to join the bank details are on our website.  We take payments every Tuesday morning.

 

We are very excited to have secured tickets for Walt Disney's Aladdin in the Cardiff Millenium for 7th December 2023.  Children in Year 3 - Year 6 in September will enjoy this visit in the build up to Christmas!  (sorry to mention Christmas)  

 

We have a new e-Reception signing in process. Staff and visitors will be expected to sign in using the new system. This will help us track who is on site and times of entry and departure.  If you child is late coming into school you will be expected to sign them in.  Mrs. Beynon will be on hand to help, although the system is very easy to use. Even our Caretaker Roy has embraced the new technology!

Our Coronation Party for King Charles III

You are invited to our Garden Party to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III on Friday 5th May 2023 at 1.20pm.     Please bring a picnic, rug/chair.   There will be refreshments and entertainment.   Fingers crossed for a sunny day.  

We are sending out a some homework tasks in build up for the event - details will be with parents by Monday.

Quiz night -we raised an amazing £224.50 on the night ! Wow !  It was great fun and the FoP worked really hard to ensure the night was a success.

National test of the UK Emergency Alerts service

On Sunday 23 April 2023 at 3.00pm, there will be a national test of the UK Emergency Alerts service.This is a siren-like sound which will make a noise even if your phone is on silent.Anyone with a hidden phone for personal safety can switch off their phone or use airplane mode for the test, which will last about 10 seconds.
