HT Weekly Blog

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back after half term. What a fabulous afternoon of Jubilee Celebrations we had ! Thanks for your support. The feedback we received was lovely and everyone really enjoyed. We loved seeing us all back together. For our children, that was the first time they have performed in front of such a large audience in over 2 years ! For our younger pupils it was the first ever time for them to perform to a large audience. Lots of children were so nervous - but they needn`t have been , as they were incredible ! If you haven`t seen it yet, please watch our wonderful Jubilee video - click here - enjoy!

IMPORTANT - School premises on the weekend

Unfortunately, we have had a number of weekends when we have had Primary school children and teenagers accessing the school grounds , when the school is closed. They have gained access by climbing over the high fences! I have watched the CCTV footage.

I have taken calls from concerned neighbours, during these weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) to inform me. So far, no damage has been caused, but things have been moved/thrown about.

I had a call this Saturday (11th June) to let me know that teenagers were seen inside the school carpark at 10.45pm on Friday night.

As this trespassing seems to be ongoing I will now inform the Police. I`d be really saddened if any damage was to be caused or even worse, an accident was to occur `out of hours` on the school property. I urge you as parents to contact the local PCSO`s and I have also given the details to our neighbours.

Penclawdd Pennies  - our community bank

Our bank is run by our Y4/5 pupils, who have received financial training. They are excellent ! We are open every Tuesday at 9.30am prompt.

Reduce, reuse , recycle - Our Eco Wombles

Our Wombles have written an eco code and are learning it off by heart. It is on display around the school. Please see the picture below. Please support us as we actively work to become a Green Flag eco school.

Dragon recycling -Recycle unwanted clothes and raise funds for our school!

Dragon Bags is a free fundraising scheme that helps schools across Wales raise funds through textile recycling. We are awaiting our external bank, which will be located in the pedestrian area, so the community can have access during the day. We will send out a Seesaw once it arrives.

Curriculum for Penclawdd - Maths/Numeracy and Our Local community forms

Thanks to those who have completed the forms so far. As always we value your views, ideas and support. We have had some excellent feedback to date. The deadline is June 17th , so if you have not completed the surveys (links above) you have time!

Llanmorlais Carnival - Saturday June 25th

Please come along and support members of our Y2-Y6 choir who will be performing a medley of songs. Mrs Thompson and I will be there. We are extremely proud of these pupils, as this is the first time for them to perform. Well done!!!
