Headteacher Weekly Blog
Dear Parents and Carers,
📣Weekly headlines📣
Attendance
Being in school regularly and on time is essential for all children to achieve their full potential in life.
During the pandemic we have seen attendance dip for a variety of reasons. You will have seen in the recent news that the Welsh Government has reintroduced fixed penalty fines for pupils who do not attend school regularly. The Welsh Government target is 95% with those pupils below 80% a cause for concern and subject to improvement measures. Whilst fining is a last resort, we now need to ensure all pupils are in school and receiving the education they have sadly missed during the pandemic.
