Well, I simply can’t believe we are at the end of another school year!! Honestly, we have had the most magical time making special memories with your gorgeous little children! We are vey lucky! It is always emotional as we come to the end of our year together, but the N2s are certainly ready for Reception – my job is complete!! – and for those who we are so lucky to be teaching next year – we can’t wait to see you grow into something special!!

 

As always, it has been the busiest time in the Penguin classroom – we have been having the best time!! Here’s a sneak peek!

 

Summer time is well and truly here and we have been enjoying the outdoors and the sunshine. The children love to explore outside. The role play is always a hit as is the water play and the bikes. We have had potion making, lemonade making and not to forget hot chocolate! My favourite!

 

We have also been busy looking after our garden, and we have spotted some of our plants beginning to grow! We spotted some beans and beetroot which we harvested! We had to have a little taste of them too – delicious and super fresh!! The children have been so excited to see the plants growing – they realise how important it is to look after them and water them.

Then there was Sports Day! What a morning full of fun, laughter and smiles! The children were incredible!! We were bursting with pride!! We have had some new little Penguins join us recently and they were amazing! They joined in with the rest of us as though they have been here since September! The resilience and confidence shown by the children was fantastic! Super proud!

 

We have been on our annual community trip to Folly Farm!! What a day!! It did start off a little soggy but it soon brightened up! It is our favourite place to be!! We have been watching the animals on the live cameras, and we are all so intrigued by the sloths!! We love them! We were so excited to see them in real life – they are fascinating!! Lots of the children even bought a cuddly one in the shop to take home!! Our trip has inspired so many wonderful things in the classroom – from map making to bus rides to folly farm and everything in between!!

We are saying farewell to some of our gorgeous little penguins, and it's always a difficult thing to do. However, I am so proud of the penguins flying the nest to become Flamingos! They are independent, kind, loving and conscientious little ones who will absolutely thrive in full-time school.
