Gold Siarter Iaith Cymraeg Campus award – a remarkable accomplishment and a testament to your dedication to promoting the Welsh language. Becoming the 4th English medium school in Swansea ( Nerys Jones - Head of Welsh in Education Officers)
Criw Cymraeg - from the team
We just have to shout from the rooftops about our incredible Criw Cymraeg! 🌟 This brilliant bunch of pupils have been absolute stars all year — flying the flag for all things Welsh and making sure Cymraeg is alive, buzzing, and celebrated across our school.
From confidently (and hilariously!) leading assemblies to weaving Welsh into our daily routines, they’ve made speaking Cymraeg feel fun, natural, and something we can all be proud of. They’ve helped organise celebration days, welcomed our community in for Dydd Miwsig Cymru, and made St David’s Day a joyful memory for all our learners. You’ve probably spotted them around the village too, putting up our ‘Give it a go!’ signs — we’re bursting with pride that even Estyn recognised and celebrated our shared ‘Welsh-ness’! 💛
And now… all that passion and hard work has led to something truly special…
🥁 Drumroll please… we’ve achieved the GOLD Siarter Iaith! 🎉
Out of 67 schools in Swansea, we are only the 4th to achieve this prestigious award!
This is an incredible achievement and a real testament to the drive, leadership, and energy of our Criw Cymraeg. They’ve shown us just how powerful pupil voice can be — and that when we work together, we can achieve amazing things.
So llongyfarchiadau to our wonderful Criw — we are so, so proud of you.
Diolch o galon for sharing your love of the Welsh language and helping to make our school a brighter, more bilingual, and proudly Welsh place to be.

Penclawdd Takes on Legoland & Windsor!
On Saturday, we hit the road for a community trip to Legoland and Windsor — and wow, what a day it was! From thrilling rides and Lego adventures to royal views and riverside relaxation, the sun was shining and the smiles were endless. One of the stand-out moments? Flight of the Sky Lion! A huge simulator that lifted us into the air, complete with realistic graphics, movement… and even water sprays as we soared over oceans!
As one parent put it:“The only downside was it ended!”Meanwhile, Mrs R-M and Mrs B popped over to Windsor for a peaceful steamboat cruise along the Thames, admiring the majestic backdrop of Windsor Castle.
A massive thank you to everyone who joined us and made the day so special. What a way to make memories as a community!

It was lovely to see Sienna our Health and Wellbeing Minister opening the KS2 sports and the children adding scores and giving out first, second and third stickers. We are in the process of totalling the house points and will share the scores with the children in assembly. Many thanks for the Friends of Penclawdd for selling teas, coffees and scones with cream and jam.
