Headteacher News - 30/1/26

Community is at the heart of everything we do at Penclawdd Primary, and this week has been a lovely reminder of just how special those connections are. Making Welsh cakes for cuppa club ❤️
What a brilliant start to the Spring term we’ve had already!
🌟 From muddy boots and big smiles on our sharks visit to Big Meadow, to exciting plans underway for our upcoming trip to Big Pit for our polar bears, it’s been a busy and inspiring time for our learners.
We’re also deep in the planning stages for our much-anticipated Year 5/6 residential in Llangrannog, with plenty of excitement building already.
Meanwhile, our Nursery Penguins enjoyed a waddle-tastic celebration of National Penguin Awareness Day, getting busy creating (and nibbling!) their own adorable edible penguins — a perfect blend of creativity, fine motor skills, talk and smiles all round. 🖤🤍🐧 See here...
Alongside this, we’ve celebrated a proud moment as our wonderful Mrs Davies took to the airwaves on BBC Radio Wales for Welsh Word of the Week, reminding us all that Cymraeg truly belongs everywhere. Click here...
🎙️🏴 And at the heart of it all, Rhyme Time returned with a bang — welcoming new babies and toddlers into our school community and filling our space with songs, smiles and the joy of early language.

It’s been a week full of curiosity, connection and that unmistakable Penclawdd buzz. 💛

📸 Roz and Kirsty Photography – 10th March
We’re delighted to welcome Roz and Kirsty back to Penclawdd Primary School! They will be visiting us on Monday, 10th March (morning) to take individual and sibling photographs.
Roz and Kirsty have worked with our school many times, and we always receive fantastic feedback about their friendly approach and beautiful photographs.
Please note: There is absolutely no obligation to purchase any photographs – we simply need your consent for your child to take part. (Details to follow)
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the school office.
❤️ A Little Love from Our Penclawdd Community ❤️
Community is at the heart of everything we do at Penclawdd Primary, and this week has been a lovely reminder of just how special those connections are.
In Clwb Coginio, our learners baked traditional Welsh cakes on the griddle — and as the room filled with that familiar, comforting smell, our thoughts turned to our dear friends at Cuppa Club ☕💬. Cooking together gives us time to chat, learn, laugh and share stories, and Welsh cakes feel made for moments just like this — full of warmth, connection and togetherness 💛.
We are so grateful for the friendship, support and sense of belonging our wider community brings. It’s these simple, shared experiences that remind us how community is built — through kindness, conversation and caring for one another 🫶.
