๐Ÿ’›โ˜• Penclawdd Primary Supports World Mental Health Day โ˜•๐Ÿ’›

Last week, our school came together to celebrate ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’šWorld Mental Health Day — a special time to remind us all just how important it is to look after our mental well-being.

At Penclawdd Primary, we marked the occasion with our much-loved Tea and Talk Day, creating a warm, welcoming space for pupils to connect, share, and reflect. ๐Ÿซ–๐Ÿ’ฌ

Our classrooms were glowing with splashes of yellow — the colour of hope and happiness — as children proudly wore yellow to show their support.  Each pupil brought along a favourite mug from home, ready to join friends and teachers for a comforting chat and a cuppa..These small but powerful moments of connection help us build a community where talking about feelings is encouraged, not hidden.๐Ÿ’›

A heartfelt thank you to all our families for supporting this meaningful day and helping us nurture a culture of kindness, empathy, and emotional well-being

๐ŸŽต๐Ÿ’ฌ Dydd Shwmae 2025! ๐Ÿ’ฌ๐ŸŽต

Our amazing Criw Cymraeg organised musical chairs with a twist for everyone from Nursery to Year 6 — but there was only one rule… you had to Siarad Cymraeg! ๐Ÿ˜„

Laughter, music and lots of Welsh filled the hall — from “Shwmae!” to “Eistedd!” and “Da iawn ti!” — it was brilliant to see everyone joining in! โค๏ธ๐Ÿด

We’re so proud of our Criw Cymraeg for spreading the Welsh spirit across the school today — pawb yn siarad Cymraeg a mwynhau! ๐Ÿฅณ

๐Ÿ“šโœจ Book Fair Success! โœจ๐Ÿ“š

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported our recent Book Fair — it was a huge success! ๐Ÿ’–

Thanks to your generosity, we’ve raised £300 to spend on brand-new books for our school. Our Education Minister has been busy chatting with pupils to gather their ideas ๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ’ฌ and has already placed the first order — the books will be arriving very soon! ๐ŸŽ‰

Your support helps us continue to enrich our library and inspire a lifelong love of reading across the school. Diolch o galon! โค๏ธ

๐Ÿ“๐ŸŽ‚ Urdd Cooking & Baking Competition 2025! ๐ŸŽ‚๐Ÿ“

Our Criw Cymraeg were thrilled to host this year’s Urdd Coginio a Phobi / Cooking & Baking Competition — and what a feast for the eyes (and taste buds!) it was! .Learners from Years 4–6 were invited to take part in two categories:
๐Ÿฅช Open Sandwich
๐ŸŽ‚ Celebration Cake

We were delighted to welcome Mrs Settle, our fabulous Welsh Link Governor, as our proud judge. She was blown away by the creativity, attention to detail, and the clever use of Welsh ingredients and colours throughout the entries. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿค

โœจ Ffion wowed us with her winning Open Sandwich — a creative twist on the viral M&S Summer Sandwich! Succulent strawberries, raspberries, and a generous layer of cream on soft brioche… absolutely dreamy! ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿž

โœจ Hywel stole the show in the Celebration Cake category with his Bara Brith-inspired masterpiece, layered with rich butter icing — pure Welshness in every bite!

Both winners will now go on to represent Penclawdd Primary at the Regional Round in Ysgol Gyfun Gลตyr! ๐Ÿ‘

A huge diolch to all our talented young chefs — you’ve made us so proud!

๐Ÿ“ธ Look at some of these show-stopping creations!
