Who are the Friends of Penclawdd?
Staff working alongside parents/carers/families, friends of the school, community members , local businesses etc to help lead and organise fundraising activities.
Why are the Friends of Penclawdd so important? What is our aim? What do we spend the money on?
With school budgets decreasing the Friends of Penclawdd play an important part in helping our school with fundraising events and ideas.
We raise funds to enhance the experiences of every child in the school. Our target is to raise funds each school year, and we have a calendar of events lined up which will be fun for everyone as well as raising money for the school. We decide what to spend the money on in relation to our school priorities.
In 2022-2023 monies raised will go towards enhancing the outdoors learning areas/gardens for all classes N-Y6.
What type of events/activities do we do?
For example:
- Halloween Disco
- Valentines Disco
- Christmas fayre: carols in the playground with refreshments, raffle, sweet and cakes stalls as well as games
- Raffles and refreshments at the school Christmas performances
- Easter egg Tombola
- Community trips - Legoland, London etc
- Days out raffle
- Quiz nights
- Summer fayre
- And much more…
How can I get involved in Friends of Penclawdd?
There are a number of ways , from selling raffle tickets, to manning a stall at a fayre , making refreshments at an event, to helping out at a disco, to shopping for provisions for events, to promoting our activities and LOTS more ! Please see details below.
Interested in joining us? When and where do we meet?
Being part of Friends of Penclawdd is not a huge commitment and it is very rewarding as well as a great way to meet other parents/carers and have fun being involved in our fundraising events.
We usually meet once a term, straight after school ,either in the hall or somewhere local -rugby club etc. We would welcome new friends to our friendly group. You may only wish to be involved with one event throughout the year or just come along to find out what is coming up. We welcome any ideas you may have for fundraising events or activities. Attending meetings isn't compulsory; you may wish to help out at events as and when you can. If you are interested in joining please get in touch and we will keep you up to date on upcoming events by email or seesaw.
